Fun Toddler Activities in Orlando: Music, Sensory Play & Science Museum Adventures

We’ve been diving into some fun activities in Orlando lately, and I wanted to share what’s been working for us—especially for other parents of toddlers (or twins!) looking for ideas.

Recently, we decided not to enroll the boys in “school” just yet. Instead, we’re keeping them home for now. I have to give a shoutout to our incredible nanny, who has been with us since the boys were just 4 months old. She’s been a huge part of our family, and honestly, letting her go wasn’t an option for me yet.

With school off the table for now, I wanted to find a few ways for the boys to interact with other kids. Don’t get me wrong—they have each other, and it’s wonderful—but their dynamic together is very different than how they interact with other children. At home, they roughhouse nonstop (seriously, the energy is nonstop!), and sharing is a constant challenge. With other kids, though, they tend to play more gently and even share a bit more willingly. It’s fascinating to see the difference, and it reminded me how important social opportunities outside the home are.

Kicking It Off With Soccer Shots

We started with Soccer Shots, and it’s been fantastic. The program feels perfectly suited to toddlers—age-appropriate games, lots of encouragement, and a coach who really understands how to keep kids engaged. The boys get to run around outside, interact with peers, and burn off some energy in a structured, fun way. E is inspired by the other kids’ participation, while M happily does his own thing—which is so true to both of their personalities.

Messy, Hands-On Fun With Sensory Play

We also tried a Sensory Play Class with Sprout & Feather Co and Bushel & Peck Studio, and wow—what a hit! The space had multiple sensory stations, but the boys were drawn to two or three in particular. One of their favorites was a “garden” station with dirt made from flour and cocoa powder. They dug, scooped, and explored for the full class—it was messy, tactile, and so much fun to watch.

Sensory play is amazing at this age because it engages all the senses, encourages problem-solving, and strengthens fine motor skills. But beyond the developmental benefits, it’s just plain fun. The boys’ excitement was contagious—they were completely immersed in the experience.

Dancing, Singing, and Exploring With Music

Music classes at Bushel & Peck Studio have been another favorite. These classes are full of movement, instruments, and songs that get toddlers moving and participating. I love watching the boys learn rhythm, coordination, and social skills like taking turns—all while having a blast.

The space is also incredibly parent-friendly, which is a huge bonus for me as a mom of twins. There’s plenty of room for strollers, and the main play area is safely blocked off so the boys can explore freely without wandering off. With Halloween-themed pop-ups coming up, we’re excited to dive into even more music-filled fun soon.

Exploring the Orlando Science Museum

Finally, we ventured to the Orlando Science Museum just before the boys turned 2 (bonus: kids under 2 are free!). While some exhibits are geared toward older children, there were plenty of hands-on activities that captured their attention. From touching and manipulating exhibits to exploring the toddler-friendly areas, it was a perfect first museum experience. The boys loved it so much, I’m seriously considering an annual membership.

Parenting twins is full of constant energy, new experiences, and little discoveries every day. Finding activities that spark joy, learning, and social interaction is such a gift.

I’d love to hear from you—what are your favorite activities for toddlers? Any Orlando gems we should check out next?
